# Set up your program

> Create your affiliate program in Tolt: set its name, currency and website, then the payout rules and the commission rates partners earn.

A program is the affiliate program partners join. It holds the details partners see, the currency commissions are earned in, and your payout rules. Your first program is created for you when you sign up, so setting it up means configuring it rather than creating it. Most accounts run a single program; you can add more for different products or regions.

## Configure the details

Open **Program settings** from the sidebar. Under **General settings**:

**1. Name the program**

Set the **Partner program name** partners will recognize (for example, *Acme Partners*) and the **Product name** your commissions apply to.

**2. Set the currency**

Choose the **Program currency**. Revenue, commissions, and payouts are all tracked in it. Pick it before partners start earning, since it is awkward to change afterward.

**3. Add your website**

Set the **Website URL** so links and the partner portal point back to you.

## Set payout rules

On the right of the same page, under **Payout details**:

* **Minimum payout threshold** - the balance a partner must reach before they are paid (for example, \$25.00).
* **Payout term** - when approved commissions become payable (for example, NET-15).
* **Payout methods** - which methods partners can connect, such as PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer.

> **Program status** (also on this page) pauses or resumes earning for the whole program. While paused, clicks are still tracked but no new commissions are created.

## Set commission rates

Commission rates are defined in **Flows**, not here. A flow is an automated rule, for example 20% on every sale, or a different rate for a specific plan, partner, or group. Open **Flows** and create one to control how much partners earn.
