# Tolt dashboard overview

> A tour of the Tolt dashboard: set up your affiliate program, approve partners, review commissions, pay partners and track performance.

These guides walk through running an affiliate program from the Tolt dashboard. Many of these steps, such as managing partners, customers, and commissions, can also be driven through the [API](/api-reference/introduction). If you are setting Tolt up for the first time, follow them in order.

## The path

Everything in Tolt follows one path:

**1. Set up your program**

Configure the program partners join: its name, currency, and payout rules. See [Set up your program](/dashboard/create-program).

**2. Invite and approve partners**

Add partners or approve the ones who sign up. Each gets a referral link. See [Invite and approve partners](/dashboard/partners).

**3. A visitor converts**

Someone follows a partner's link and becomes a customer. When their payment matches one of your commission flows, Tolt creates a commission for that partner. See [how tracking works](/concepts/attribution).

**4. Review commissions**

Approve the commissions that should be paid. See [Review and approve commissions](/dashboard/commissions).

**5. Pay partners**

Run a payout for approved commissions. See [Run a payout](/dashboard/payouts).

**6. Track performance**

Watch revenue, conversions, and your top partners in [Reports](/dashboard/reports).

## The home screen

The overview is the first thing you see. It shows the current program's **revenue**, **clicks**, **leads**, and **customers**, your **top partners by revenue**, and the most **recent referred customers**. Switch programs from the selector in the top left.
